Android became clear smartphone leader as over 100m phones ship

Research firm Canalys saw Android overtaking Nokia's S60 as the major smartphone platform last quarter. HTC, Samsung Electronics, Sony Ericsson, Motorola Mobility and LG Electronics are all using Google's Android operating system, driving its market share up to 35%, while Nokia fell from 45% to 26%.
Canalys said the market for more advanced cellphones grew 83 percent last quarter from a year ago to 101 million phones.
