Verbatim has launched flash drives using the latest SuperSpeed USB3.0 standard in a sign that the technology is starting to become more adopted and expects premium drives to go this way.
The Store ‘n’ Go USB 3.0 Flash Drive supports transfer rates of up to 70MB/sec Write and 120MB/sec and comes in capacities of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB and costs £39.99(16GB), £79.99 (32GB) or £129.99 (64GB) (RRP).
“USB 3.0 drives make a lot of sense because they are 100 percent compatible with USB 2.0 and offer far superior speeds to devices that have USB 3.0 ports,” said Hans Christoph Kaiser, Business Development Manager Flash Verbatim EUMEA. “We are expecting the bulk of the premium USB flash storage market to migrate to USB3.0 ”
